Gale Hall

Hall Funeral Friday
Funeral services for Gale Hall, 49, Town of Pine Grove, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Plainfield Baptist Church. Mr. Hall died Tuesday of a self-inflicted shotgun wound.

The Rev. David Wistoff will officiate at the services; and burial will take place in the
Plainfield Cemetery.

Odd Fellows Lodge No. 73 of Plainfield will conduct its ritual at the Goult-Patterson-Hardell Funeral Home in Plainfield at 8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hall, was born in Iowa on Oct. 22, 1910, and came to Wisconsin with his parents as a child. He had lived on a farm west of Bancroft for many years. His marriage to Nora Sherman took place on April 11, 1936. Mr. Hall operated his own farm and was employed by Paramount Farms, owned by Robert L. Berard of Stevens Point. He was a past noble prand of the Plainfield Odd Fellows Lodge and a member of the Bancroft Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife: five children. Lois, Stanley, Vernon. Delores and Gordon, all at home; his mother, of Plainfield, and a sister, Mrs. Leon (Gladys) Sherman. Plainfield.

Mr. Hall's Funeral
Funeral services for Gale Hall, 49, Town of Pine Grove, who died last Tuesday, were held Friday at the Plainfield Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Wistoff officiating Burial took place in the Plainfield Cemetery.

William Leavitt, Ralph Adams, Vern Clark, Harold Wilson, Lee Gorman and Peter Shift were the pallbearers.

"Beyond the Sunset" and "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" were sung during the services by Mrs. Floyd Billman, accompanied toy Mrs. Jesse L. Judd. Nora Mae (
Sherman) Hall Pichelman

Nora Mae (Sherman) Pichelman, 89, of Plainfield, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 29, 2005, at her home.

She was born May 24, 1916, in Portage County, to the late Edison and Harriet (Rozell) Sherman. Nora was married to Gale Hall on April 10, 1936. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1960. Nora later was married to Raymond Pichelman on Jan. 20, 1962. He preceded her in death.

Nora spent her life in the Bancroft/Plainfield area. She was active in the community and the
Baptist Church. Grandma Nora's greatest joy was visiting with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Lois (Dale) Scott, Stanley (Pat) Hall, Vernon (Janice) Hall, Delores (Tom) Sullivan and Gordon Hall; stepdaughter, DarIa (Dale) Heinz; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step grandsons; other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, one infant child and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home,
Plainfield, with the Rev. Tom Gaudet officiating. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

Nora Mae (Sherman) Pichelman, 89, Plainfield, a Portage County native, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at her home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield, with the Rev. Tom Gaudet officiating. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Saturday until the services.

Clara M. Pichelmann

Clara M. Pichelmann, 91, Bancroft, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at Sylvan Crossing in Stevens Point.
 
Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Plainfield Village Cemetery. The Leikness and Stahl Funeral Home of Plainfield assisted the family with the arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.plainfieldfuneralhome.com.
 
Mrs. Pichelmann was born July 30, 1915, in Polonia, a daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Waldock) Radzinski. She was married to Emil Pichelmann on Dec. 4, 1935. He died Nov. 21, 1967.   She was a homemaker until her husband's death and then worked at Ron's Family Restaurant in Plainfield. She baked the pies for many years.
 
Survivors include one son, Raymond (Donna), Bancroft; one sister, Betty Groshek, Stevens Point; one brother, Chester Radzinski, Arnott; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
 
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Gertrude Muehl; and one granddaughter, Terri.

Richard M. Bentley

Richard M. Bentley, 81, 2551 Warner St., died Monday at 10:45 a.m. at St. Michael's Hospital. He had been ill for about one month.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Goult-Patterson-Hardell Funeral Home in Plainfield. The Rev. Huntley Lewis will officiate. Burial will be held in the Plainfield Cemetery. Friends may call today at the funeral home.

Mr. Bentley was born April 22, 1889, in the Town of Plainfield, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Bentley. He married Mary Young in the Town of Plainfield on Oct. 12, 1912. She died Nov. 19, 1929. He married Agnes Rockefeller in Dubuque, Iowa, on Oct. 25, 1947.

He has farmed in the Towns of Bancroft and Plainfield and has lived in Stevens Point since 1947.

Mr. Bentley is survived by his wife, Agnes; six daughters, Mrs. Perry (Alice) Ordway, Plover, Mrs. Harry (Marion) Swen, Kellner, Mrs. Sylvester (Doris) Sherman, Capron, Ill., Mrs. Chris (Iva) Rupp, Sheboygan, Mrs. George (Marjorie) Schilling, Almond and Mrs. John (LaNae) Keough, Bancroft; two sons, Ralph, Wisconsin Rapids, and Don, Eau Claire; two stepsons, Ole Schlesness, Washington, D. C., and Cal Rockefeller, Houston, Tex.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Dale (Marjorie) Campbell, Merrill; three brothers, Andrew, Wauwatosa, Raymond, Waupaca, and Martin, Wautoma; 40 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Carl R. Gerard

Carl R. Gerard, 79, Plainfield, father of a town of Grant woman, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at Welcome Home Assisted Living in Waupaca.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield. Burial will be in Hancock Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the services.

Mr. Gerard was born Oct. 21, 1926, in Coloma, a son of the late Win and Sylvia (Payne) Gerard. He was married to Jessie Mussey on June 2, 1944, in Coloma. He served in the U.S. Navy.

After serving his country, he returned to Plainfield, where he farmed for a number of years and was employed as a maintenance engineer for the Tri-County School District for 16 years. He also worked for John Bushman Construction for 14 years.
 
Survivors include three daughters, Carla (Dave) Kedrowski, Washburn, Cheryl Conley, Plainfield, and Mary (Roy) Urban, (town of Grant) Wisconsin Rapids; three sons, Chuck, Iowa, Dennis (Brenda), Wisconsin Rapids, and Ray (Laura), Plainfield; two sisters, Stella Pommering, Plover, and Lelah Kapp, Madison; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
 
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jane; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Fred Timm (Mary Louise Wrasse)

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Hancock, Deerfield
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. at St. John's Lutheran church, Almond, for Mrs. Fred W. Timm, Plainfield, mother of Elmer Timm, 424 Prais street. Rev. Ralph Danielsen will officiate, and burial will take place at
Deerfield.

Friends may call after 6 o’clock this evening at the Goult funeral home in Plainfield.

Mrs. Timm, who was 73, died Wednesday. Born Aug. 12, 1882 in Germany, Mrs. Timm was the former Mary Louise Wrasse. She came to this country as a child, and had lived in the Plainfield area since that time.

She was married April 9, 1902, at Richford to Mr. Timm, who survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Alinda Johnson, Fremont, and six sons, Alvin, Casa Grande, Ariz., Alfred and William, Plainfield, Arthur, Portage, Edwin, Neenah, and Elmer, Stevens Point. An adopted son Claude (illegible) preceded her in death.

Mrs. Timm's Funeral
Services for Mrs. Fred W, Timm, Plainfield, were held recently at St. John's Lutheran church in Almond, and burial followed in Deerfield, Rev. Ralph Danielsen officiated at the services.

During the services, Mrs. Arnold Helmrich, Mrs. Lyle Pagel, Mrs. Merle Pagel and Mrs. Ralph Danielsen sang hymns, accompanied by Mrs. Howard Newby.

Fred W. Timm

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Hancock, Deerfield
Fred W. Timm, 78,
Plainfield, father of Elmer Timm, 424 Praid St., died at 7 p. m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Hospital. He had been a patient there since July.

Born April 14, 1878, at Baldwin's Mills, Waupaca County, he lived in that area until April 9, 1902, when he married Mary Louise Wrasse at Richford, Wis. They lived in the Town of Oasis, Waushara County, farming there until 1941, when they retired and moved to Plainfield. Mrs. Timm died Oct. 18. 1955,

Mr. Timm served several terms as assessor of the Town of Oasis, was a township supervisor for & number of years and was treasurer of the West Oasis School District for many years. He also was agent for the Aurora Fire Insurance Co.

Survivors include six sons, Alfred and William, Plainfield, Alvln, Casa Grande, Ariz., Arthur, Portage, Edwin, Neenah, and Elmer; one daughter, Mrs. Wallace Johnson, Fremont; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. An adopted son, Claude Simons, died in 1953.

Friends may call at the Goult Funeral Home at Plainfield. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p. m. at St. John's Lutheran Church at Almond, with the Rev. Ralph Danielson officiating. Burial will be made in the Town of Deerfield, Waushara County.

Ora M. Starks

Ora Monroe Starks, 80, Plainfield, died Thursday afternoon at Methodist Hospital in Madison:

Mr. Starks and his wife had been staying since August at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Zita) Shippee, Oregon, Wi.

The funeral will b« held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Goult-Patterson-Hardell Funeral Home in Plainfield, with the Rev. Reuben Bailey of the Plainfield Methodist Church officiating Burial will take place in the North Deerfleld Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon to the time of the services.

Mr. Starks was born in the Town of Deerfield (Waushara County) May 17, 1882, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Starks. He married Clara Lamb on Nov. 16, 1904.

A farmer, he moved to Plainfield after his retirement. Surviving, besides his wife, are nine children, Mrs. Meta Bohn and Walter Starks, Berlin, Nelson, Columbus, Velma, Beloit, Ross, in Arizona, Bert, Oshkosh, Mrs. Ilona Clark, Chicago, April, Westfield, and Mrs. Shippee.

Funeral Of Mr. Starks
The Rev. Reuben Bailey of the Plainfield Methodist Church conducted funeral services Monday at the Goult-Pattersott-Hardell Funeral Home in Plainfield for Ora M. Starks, 80.

Mr. Starks, a Plainfield resident, died last Thursday in Madison.

Burial took place in the North Deerfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ray Eager, Art Tamingo, Elmer Parkinson, Frank Green, Otis Hintz and Emil Storzbach. Relatives and friends' attended from Beloit, Berlin, Waterloo, Phoenix, Ariz., Oregon, Coloma, Oshkosh, Mokena, Ill., Hancock and Plainfield.

Charles H. Biesik, 71, a former Stevens Point resident living at Route l. Wild Rose, died at the hospital in Wild Rose on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Wautoma. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Wautoma.

Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. today at the Holly Funeral Home, Wild Rose. A prayer service will be held at 8:15 p.m.

Mr. Biesik was born May 12, 1905, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Biesik. His marriage was to Eleanore Hintz on Oct. 25,1939. in the Town of Stockton.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Charles, Germantown; five daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Sharon) Drees, Wauwatosa, Mrs. Roger (Louise) Christensen and Mrs. Patricia Reguse, both of Wild Rose, Mrs. Albert
(Kathleen) Bucheger, Franklin, and Mrs. James (Elizabeth) Kauer, Rib Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Wilkens. Arlington Heights, Ill., and Mrs. Agnes Stanley. Chicago, Ill.; and 17 grandchildren.

Mrs. Dennis Nigh, 58, Bancroft, died at 4:52 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Hospital, after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Goult-Gasperic  Funeral Home, Plainfield The Rev. Ralph Deal, Plainfield Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 pm. today at the funeral home.

The former Jennie V. Ostrander was horn Sept 8, 1917, in the Town of Pine Grove, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ostrander. She married Dennis R. Nigh on Sept. 5, 1940, in Plainfield

Survivors include two sons, Harry, Miami, Fla., and LaVerne, Sheboygan Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Dexter (June) Sparks and Phyllis Nigh, both of Bancroft, and Mrs. Gerald (Connie) Evans, Wautoma; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Cora) Smith, Almond; two brothers, John Ostrander, 2624 Rice St., and Floyd, Wisconsin Rapids, and seven grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death.

Ione D. (Ellenz) Nigh

Ione D. Nigh, 83, Arpin, a former Plainfield area resident, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at the home of her son in the town of Arpin in Wood County.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Martens/Kundinger Funeral Home in Junction City. Burial will take place in Plainfield Cemetery in the town of Plainfield in Waushara County. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and again from 10 a.m. Thursday until the services.

Mrs. Nigh was born Jan. 4, 1923, in Caledonia, Minn., a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Hoschiet) Ellenz.

She was married to Emery E. "Teen" Nigh Sr. on Nov. 4, 1941, in Plainfield. He died Dec. 26, 1990. She and her husband farmed for many years in the Plainfield area and then in 1958 relocated to the Sherry area where they continued to farm.
 
Survivors include two sons, Emery "Tex" (Brenda) Nigh Jr., Arpin, and Henry "Hank" (Cheryl), Milladore; two daughters, Penny (Joe) Bastian, Janesville, and Montana (George) Kohl, Dorchester; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Phyllis I. (Nigh) Goman

Phyllis I. Goman, 59, Bancroft, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Gasperic Funeral Home in Plainfield. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday until the services.

Mrs. Goman was born Aug. 29, 1946, in the town of Pine Grove in Portage County, a daughter of the late Dennis and Virginia (Ostrander) Nigh.

She was married to David Goman on April 14, 1979, at the United Methodist Church in Plainfield.

Survivors include her husband; one son, William (Michelle), Bancroft; two stepsons, Jay (Wendy) Goman, Plainfield, and Vernon (Tammy) Goman, Bancroft; one brother, LeVern (Janice) Nigh, Sheboygan Falls; two sisters, June Sparks, Kingman, Ariz., and Connie (Gerald) Evans, Wisconsin Rapids; and six grandchildren.

Albert C Smith

Albert C. (Mike) Smith, 70, died at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Portage County Home, where he had been a patient since August 1972. His death followed a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Goult-Gasperic Funeral Home, Plainfield. The Rev. Ralph Deal, Plainfield Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born June 29,1904, in the Town of Pine Grove. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Smith. He married Irene Erickson on Sept. 19, 1928. He spent most of his life in the Town of Pine Grove and was employed as a farm laborer.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Harold (June) Smith, Bancroft; one sister, Mrs. Edna Knudson, Plainfield, and two grandsons.

Ruth O Pomering Squires

Ruth Opal Squires, 89, Plainfield died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at her home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Plainfield, with the Rev. Thomas Gaudet officiating. Burial will be in Hancock Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and at the church from 2 p.m. Sunday until the services.
A memorial has been established for First Baptist Church in Plainfield.

Mrs. Squires was born Feb. 11, 1916, in Hancock, a daughter of the late Emil and Winnie (Benjamin) Pomering. She was a graduate of Hancock High School. She was married to Harvey W. Squires on June 9, 1949, in Denver, Colo. He died Aug. 5, 1992. In her early years, she worked at Rockford Screw Products in Rockford, Ill., during World War II.

She and her husband moved to the Hancock area in 1951. She was employed for a number of years at the former Soil Lab and Gambles Store, both in Plainfield. She was a member of
First Baptist Church in Plainfield, the Ladies Aid, Hancock/Coloma American Legion Auxiliary and Plainfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (George) Foster, Hancock, and Sally (Kyle) Zinter, Merrill; one son, Dr. William "Bud" (Sharon), Janesville; two sisters, Betty and Donna; one brother, Gerald Pomering; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Darwin, Harvey and Abert Pomering; three sisters, Margaret, Marjorie and Mary Ann; and one grandson.

E Trickey

Lena E. Trickey, 101, a longtime resident of Plainfield, former Plainfield treasurer and mother of a Plover woman, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at Sylvan Crossings on Evergreen in Wausau.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Plainfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard Fite officiating. Burial will be in Plainfield Village Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from noon Monday until the services. The Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home of Plainfield is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Trickey was born May 29, 1904, at Roselle, Wis., a daughter of the late Phillip and Elsie (Sperhake) Fischer. She was raised in Plainfield. She graduated from Plainfield High School in 1922 as salutatorian of her class.

She became secretary for Attorney Johnson prior to her marriage. She was married to Glenn Frank Trickey on Oct. 27, 1924, at the United Methodist Church Parsonage in
Plainfield. He died on Sept. 20, 1983. They resided on the Trickey Farm in the town of Oasis in Waushara County until they moved to Plainfield in 1942.

She worked at the Plainfield Gamble Store for a number of years and served as village treasurer. From 1953 until 1968 she was administrative secretary at Tri-County School.

She was active in the
United Methodist Church and served a term as president of the Women's Society. She was also a former member of the Plainfield Women's Club.

Survivors include five daughters, Shirley Saloun, Wauwatosa, Beverly (Tom) Wright, Plover, Donna (Louis) Jacoboski, Fairfield, Ohio, Joan (David) Lindstrom, Wausau, and Diane (Stan) Hamilton, Boise, Idaho; 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
 
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Downie; one  sister; six brothers; and one grandson.
