Waupaca County Post - Waupaca, Wisconsin – April 15, 1937
Parfreyville

William L. Hebard died at his home in Parfreyville Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. on his way to feed his poultry.  His grandson accompanied him, and as they were walking hand-in-hand, Mr. Hebard slumped down.  When Robert summoned his grandmother to the prostrate form of her husband, she could discover no sign of life.  A physician pronounced death due to heart failure.

Deceased, the eldest son of the late Lucius and Hattie (Holman) Hebard was born in Parfreyville March 25, 1861 and always lived in that community.  June 7, 1865 he was joined in marriage to Altana C. Lewis, who with one son, Dean Louis and other relatives mourn his sudden demise.  Three grandsons, William Dean 8, Robert Van 4, and Donald 2, are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hebard.  Arlabelle (Mrs. Harold Peterson) is a daughter of the late Robert Hebard who died in service in the World War.  Three older children, Arla, Donald, and Lloyd died in childhood.  Three sisters, Mrs. Clara St. Louis of Warroad, Minnesota; Mrs. Agnes Copeland of Jefferson; Mrs. Lucy Cauhey of Madison and three brothers, George of Kenosha; Frank of Souris, N.D.; and Vern of Parfreyville are members of the immediate family.  Many cousins and old friends and neighbors may be included among the mourners of this exemplary native pioneer citizen of Parfreyville.

The funeral was held at the home Friday at 2:00 with Rev. Elmer Shepard, the local Methodist pastor and Rev. H. J. Lane of Shawano, a former pastor and friend of the deceased officiating.  Members of the Masonic Order will hold ritualistic services at the grave with interment at the Parfreyville Cemetery.
