Emilie Kropf

Mrs. Emilia Kropf, nee Buehlow was born January 15 1863 at Pomerania Germany.  In 1863 she accompanied her parents to this country settling in the town of Liberty.  She was married to Paul Kropf in 1895.  Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Kropf for ten years resided at Vesper, Wood county Wis., from this point they moved to New London which has since been their home.  Mrs. Kropf died Friday at her home in this city following a ten days illness of pneumonia and heart trouble.  Burial was from the Emanuel Lutheran Church 3:30 Tuesday afternoon and the body laid to rest in Floral Hill cemetery.  The remains were carried to the last resting place by Wm Below, Ernest Below, Otto Hoelf, Theo Noetzel, Milo Smith and Albert Platte.  She leaves her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Frank Schoenrock Jr. two grandchildren, Isabel and Virginia, two sisters, Mrs. Albert Newbauer of Oshkosh and Mrs. Fern Streichel of Racine and a brother, Herman Below of Oshkosh.  Among those from away who attended the funeral were:  Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hoelf, Miss Margaret Below, Mrs. John Marx, Oshkosh, Wm Below, Earnest Below, Mrs. Ida Lopknow, Miss Lena Fritz Van Dyne, Mr. and Mrs. Theo Noetzel, Tigerton, Mrs. Karl Nichols, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Carelson, Winegar.

Hazel E. Gotham

Hazel E. Gotham, 91, Our House, Plover, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at the Portage County Health Care Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Boston Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rebecca Niese officiating. Burial will take place at Floral Hill Cemetery in New London.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the services.

A memorial will be established in her name for educational purposes.

Mrs. Gotham was born April 8, 1912, in New London, a daughter of the late Edward and Lillian (Ziemer) Bleck. She lived and attended schools in New London until she went to college.

She attended North Central Teachers College in Naperville, Ill., and Central State Teachers College (now the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point) in Stevens Point, where she graduated with a degree in kindergarten and elementary education.

She taught at Elmhurst, Ill., and Grant School in Stevens Point. She also taught at the campus school at UW-SP where she met Dr. Raymond Gotham.

They were married December 22, 1948 in New London and lived their entire married life in Park Ridge and Stevens Point. He died in 1974.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, P.E.O. Sisterhood, Omega Mu Chi and University Wives.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Jean Bleck, New London; and six nieces and nephews, including Ann (Gary) Glock, Plover, and Jane (Gary) Hauboldt, Mosinee.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Bleck, and two sisters, Vera Mae Kjer and Lucy Esterl.

Eunice Davis


MRS. EUNICE DAVID DIES AT NORTHPORT
 
New London--The death of Mrs. E. David, 84, occurred at the home of her son, Orson David, at Northport at midnight Tuesday. Mrs. Davis had been in failing health for four months. The funeral will be at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Davis residence, followed by a service at the Methodist church. The Rev. F. P. Raby, of this city, will be in charge.

Eunice Dickinson was born in New York state in 1846. She came with her parents to this community, and her marriage to Jerome Davis took place in 1864 in Liberty. Mr. Davis, serving at that time with the Federal troops, came home on a furlough, returning to service on southern battle fields. His death occurred about 12 years ago. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Miss Amy Davis, New London, Wallace Davis of Shawano and Orson of Northport.
