Mabel Abrahamson

Mabel Abrahamson, 91, a former area resident, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, in Minneapolis, Minn.

Burial will be in
Farmington Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Farmington in Waupaca County.

Boston Funeral Home in
Stevens Point is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Abrahamson was born
May 15, 1910, in Sheridan (Waupaca County), a daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Otto) Tronson.

She was married to Norin Abrahamson on
Dec. 6, 1935, in Sheridan. He died May 1, 1970.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Carla Johnson, Stevens Point, and Olinda Abrahamson, Nelsonville; nieces and nephews.

Theresa A. Jensen

Theresa A. Jensen, 77, Amherst, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, in Plover.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Farmington Lutheran Church in the town of Farmington in Waupaca County, with the Rev. Mark E. Sabin officiating. Burial will be in the Farmington Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Monday at the church until the services.

The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Jensen was born Jan. 26, 1925, in the town of Wyoming in Waupaca County, a daughter of the late William and Alma (Kitzman) Beyersdorf.

She was married to Arnold W. Jensen on Oct. 11, 1947, in the town of Dupont in Waupaca County. He died Jan. 11, 1994.

She was a member of Farmington Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth and Robert, both of Amherst; one daughter, Patricia Jensen, Amherst; one sister, Rosalla (Donald) Scott, Manawa; one brother, Walter Beyersdorf, Menasha; and three grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Martin Beyersdorf

Kenneth D. Jensen

Kenneth D. Jensen, 58, Amherst, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Monday at the Farmington Lutheran Church in the town of Farmington in Waupaca County, with the Rev. Mark E. Sabin officiating. Interment will be in Farmington Lutheran
Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the service.

Mr. Jensen was born Oct. 19, 1948, in Iola, a son of the late Arnold and Theresa (Beyersdorf) Jensen.

Survivors include one son, Sean, Amherst; one stepson, Tim Warchala, Plover; three stepdaughters, Tammy Netzer, Mosinee, Tracy (Rick) Kurszewski, Elderon, and Wendy Antill, Stevens Point; one brother, Robert, Amherst; one sister, Patricia Jensen, Amherst; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Erick Thorn


Erick Thorn, a resident of the town of Amherst for many years, died Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at his family home at East Amherst. He
had been in poor health for the past few years and was ill with pneumonia for a week.

Mr. Thorn was a well known farmer In the Amherst vicinity and was a resident of that town for the past 54 years. He was born on July 3, 1858 at Clarks Mills, Manitowoc county, a son of Erick and Ragnhild Thorn. His marriage to Miss Anne Borgen took place in November, 1881. Mrs. Thorn died on May 11, 1918.

Surviving are eight sons and daughters. They are: Elmer. Irving and Anthon Thorn of Stanley, Mrs. Roy Phen of Beloit, Robert Thorn of Farmington, Montana, Carl Thorn at home, Mrs. William Ryerson and Walter Thorn of Milwaukee. He is also survived by two brothers, Thorwald Thorn of Watertown, South Dakota, and Olaf Thorn of Cato, Wisconsin, and 34 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Carey funeral borne at Amherst followed by services at the Farmington Lutheran church. Rev. A. O. Sovde and Rcv. H. M. Blogen officiated. Burial
took place in the Farmington cemetery.

Mrs. Walter (Alice) Thorn

Mrs. Walter (Alice) Thorn, 65, Route 1, Scandinavia, collapsed while shopping in downtown Stevens Point around noon Monday and was taken by
ambulance to St. Michael's Hospital, where she died. Funeral services are pending. The Holly Funeral Home, Waupaca, will be in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Walter (Alice) Thorn


Thorn services - Funeral services for Mrs. Walter Thorn, 65, Route 1, Scandinavia, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Farmington Lutheran Church, Town of Farmington in Waupaca County, Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p. m. Friday at the Holly Funeral Home,
Waupaca, and from 12:30 p.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Thorn collapsed while shopping in downtown Stevens Point around
noon Monday and was taken by ambulance to St. Michael's Hospital, where
she died at
1:25 p.m. Monday.

The former Alice Gunsten was born
Aug. 14,1910, in the Town of Farmington, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Gunsten. She married Walter Thorn on June 28,1933, in Elkhart, Ill. She had been a school teacher in the lola-Scandmavia area. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ruben, Scandinavia, and Thomas, lola; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

William J. Stoltenberg

 
W. J. Stoltenberg
A former town treasurer of the Town of Amherst, William J. Stoltenberg, 67, died at
10:20 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Hospital in Waupaca, where
he had been a patient since Sunday.

Mr. Stoltenberg, who had been in ill health for the past several years, was an Amherst Township resident. He was born April 30, 1898, in Nelsonville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stoltenberg. On March 21, 1923; he married the former Stella Quinn in Stevens Point.

The couple lived in Nelsonville, New Hope and the Amherst area, where Mr. Stoltenberg was engaged in farming and was an insurance salesman
for 10 years. He retired two years ago.

He was Amherst town treasurer for 25 years, served on the board of directors of the Rural Electrification Administration Co-op for several years, and was a board member of the Farmington
Lutheran Church in Waupaca County.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Harlan Stoltenberg, Green Bay; one daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Shirley) Deer, West Allis; two brothers, Joseph Stoltenberg, Iola, and Arthur Stoltenberg, New Hope; and six grandchildren. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services are scheduled for
1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Farmington Lutheran Church, with the pastor, the Rev. Eldon Person, officiating.
Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Jungers Funeral Home in
Amherst until 11 a.m. Tuesday, and from then until the time of services at the church.

Stoltenberg Services

The Rev. Eldron Person conducted funeral services Tuesday at the Farmington Lutheran Church for William J. Stoltenberg, 67, Town of Amherst.

Mr. Stoltenberg, a former town treasurer, died Saturday. Pallbearers were Raymond Pipe, James Peterson, Roy Caldwell, Harry Floistad, Lorin Trinrud and Alvin Trinrud. "Just As I Am" and "On« Sweetly Solemn Thought" were sung by Clyde Johnson and Mrs. Dale Hetzel, with Mrs. Norman Olson the organist. Burial took place in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends attended from Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Janesville, Milton Junction, Cochrane, Appleton, Fond du Lac, Cedar Lake, Ind., Libcrtyville, Ill., and Minneapolis, Minn,

G. Lloyd Jorgensen

G. Lloyd Jorgensen, 85, Scandinavia, a member of an Amherst church, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton.

Services will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amherst, with the Rev. Chris Schwanz officiating. Interment will be in the Farmington Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Farmington in Waupaca County.

Visitation will be from
5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and from 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the services.

A memorial has been established in his name.

Mr. Jorgensen was born June 26, 1918, in the town of Springwater in Waushara
County, a son of the late George Theodore and Delia (Evans) Jorgensen.

He was married to Lillian Schultz on
Feb. 21, 1943, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevens Point.

He was a dairy farmer in
Sheridan in Waupaca County for many years and won many awards, including outstanding farmer of the year.

He was a member of
St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amherst.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Violet (Robert) Mader, Scandinavia, Lila Jorgensen, Madison, Fern (Gerald) Coerper, Waupaca; two sons, Lloyd "Butch" (Barb), Waupaca, and Roy (Debra), Athens, Tenn.; one brother, Ben (Marge), Waupaca; one sister, Marjorie Hansen, Waupaca; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; six stepgrandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Everett and James.
