Notes for MORTEN KLEVEN (MARTIN) RASMUSSEN: 1880 census-Hustisford Township, Dodge Co, page 225 From Jessie Hislop: I don't if any or all of you had previously found the entry in the Christiana emigrants' register on the Norwegian digitalarchivet: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe for Morton Rasmussen's family leaving Norwary. It seems like the oldest sons had left earlier and I haven't really found them yet--I couldn't find an Amund at all and there are two possibilities below for Hans. I also found interesting was that their fares were paid in America--presumably by Hans & Amund or where there other relatives ? Prot. no. / Year / Page no. / Line no. /Serial no. /New family gr.

She arrived at New York on August 20th or 21st, 45 days after leaving Norway. The passenger list is dated August 22nd. She was mastered by Capt. Krog. The voyage is mentioned in an old letter (A04890) that is held by the Norwegian Emigration Museum at Hamar. The writer tells that they bought their passage from Consul "Briern" in Kragerr. The voyage is also mentioned in "A Family History" by Selma S. Casberg,

on the PrFciosa, and landed in New York on August 21, 1845, 45 days after
leaving Norway. The ship carried some iron and 94 steerage passengers. The
captain of the ship was named Krug." From New York the PrFciosa left for
Madeira with a load of planks, corn and flour. 1850 -listed of member of St Lukes 1857-Torsten Rasmussen listed as taxpayer in New Hope. Question...Was Tosten merely a investor/landowner? His brother John, immigrated in 1854, had a farm in New Hope for many
years. See 1860 census. Tosten's wife, Marit's family moved to New
