A Barn Burned - The barns of John Hurley of the town of Lebanon were struck by lightning on Thursday night inst and were consumed with all their contents, including hay, agricultural implements etc. We are unable to learn the exact loss but understand that is was about $1590.

An Increase in Population - A fine boy was born to Rev. A. C. Watts and wife Friday. The baby is a bright and healthy child and Mr. Watts says he thinks from the lung power already developed that he is cut out for a minister. Both mother and infant are doing well.

Scandinavia

The young people gave T. A. Peterson a surprise party Tuesday eve it being his 21st birthday anniversary. A good time was enjoyed by all.

O. M. Oleson was at Iola and Manawa on Tuesday.

Mrs. Sether of Waupaca visits with relatives here this week.

Last Sunday the "Ball Boys" played against the Iola nine and although they experienced defeat they were well pleased with the result, which was 3 to 0 in favor of Iola. The Iola team plays here Sunday and they will be accompanied by the Iola Band.

Peter Guthu fell from the loft of th4e Hotel Anson barn, Wednesday and was hurt quite severely.

Dr. Geo. Dale and wife were at Waupaca Thursday.

Max Wirth went to Stevens Point Friday, returning Monday.

Mr. Rowland died Tuesday morning after a long siege of sickness.

She Is Crazy - Doctors Sanborn of this place and Irvine of Royalton, have examined the Carter girl who has been kept at the poor house for some time, and she will be sent to a hospital for the insane. She is undoubtedly demented and has spells when she is very violent. Wednesday while in one of her tantrums she broke several lights of glass in the shanty in which the paupers are housed at present, and the night before threw a chair at Superintendent Carew.

Short Notes

E. E. Hoppe's infant child died this morning.

Mr. Robert Hessey is quite ill.

Mrs. Fred Doney was in Royalton on Wednesday.

John Niven of Ironwood, has been visiting his aunt, Mrs. Harry Shipman.

W, H. Dick and G. R. Lindsay went to Oshkosh last night to see "Karl Gardner".

Fred, Akins, who has been ill with inflammatory rheumatism, is able to be out again.

Mrs. Leonard Mitchell, who has been quite ill with hay fever, is rapidly recovering.

Mrs. Mina Evans and the Misses Ethel and Florence Rounds went to Bancroft, Friday morning on a visit.

Architect Buck was a Manawa visitor Friday. His business here was connected with the new schoolhouse building.

Miss Marie Ritchie of Ohio has been visiting her aunt, Mrs. Arthur Lindsay. Miss Ritchie will teach in Antigo the coming year.

Mrs. Flora Ingersoll has conveyed her half of the old Wood homestead to her brother, Glenn Wood. The consideration is private.

Isa Rice has moved out of town into part of Felix Rossey's house. Mr. Rice is working for Mr. Rossey.

Minor Bovee has gone to Waupaca to sell lumber for the Wolf River Lumber Co.

Mrs. A. P. Jones is moving from Little Wolf what is known as the All Shaw place.

Aug. Beyers has moved his house across the road and about sixty feet of where it formerly stood.

Otto Zemple surprised himself by riding his bicycle through the window of Bullock's drugstore, Sunday.
