Richard Rasmussen, aged 57 years, a resident of Ada and vicinity all his life with the exception of a few years, died at the Ada hospital last Friday afternoon at five o'clock, the cause of his death being a heart ailment. He had been in failing health for two years, and during the past nine weeks had been confined to the hospital where he had been critically ill. Richard John Rasmussen was born in Anthony township, this county, on March 11, 1888, his parents being the late Mr. and Mrs. John Rasmussen, pioneer residents of the county. He resided in Ada during his youth, when his parents moved to this city.
On March 26, 1910, he was united in marriage in Ada to Miss Martha Juve. Following their marriage, they resided on farms in this community for several years until 1928 when they disposed of their personal property and moved to Westby, Mont. After residing there for the next ten years, they returned to Ada in 1938, and this city has been their home since that time.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children: Chester of Westby, Mont., Cprl Tenney Rasmussen, now overseas; Howard of Harrington, Wash., Mrs. H. Durnan (Pearl) of Gibbon, Minn.; Mrs. E. Nephew (lucille) of Nielsvill; Ila and Eugene at home. Other surviving relatives include five sisters adn three brothers, Mrs. DAve Wilcox of Ada, Mrs. Louis Busse, Borup, Emil Rasmusson, Ellensburg, Wash., Johnny Rasmussen, Ernest Rasmussen, Mrs. leo Bemis and Selma of Ada and Mrs. Clyde Lovelace of Milton, Oregon. There are also ten grandchildren surviving.
Preceding him in death were his mother who died in August, 1941, his father who died a year later in 1942 and a brother Reuben, who passed away May 20, 1928.
Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church in Ada. Tuesday afternoon, Sept 11 at 2 o'clock, with Rev. E.G. Larson officiating at the last rites. Pallbearers were Emil Nelson, Ray Batrum, Albert Olson, Lawrence Keppler, Gunder Marsten, and George Gerjets. Interment was made in the Ada cemetery. All of the children were here for the funeral services withe the exception of Cpl Tenney Rasmussen, who has been overseas for three years.

"Death Claims Mrs. D.J. Wilcox, Ada Resident: Funeral Rites to Be Held Thursday Afternoon at the First Lutheran Church"
Death this week claimed another life-long resident of Ada, when Mrs. D.J. (Anna) Wilcox died at her home in this city about 4:30 o'clock Monday morning, May 20th. Mrs. Wilcox had been in failing health for the past year.
The former Anna Rasmusson was born in Anthony township this county March 20, 1890 a duaghter of Mr. and Mrs. John Rasmusson Sr. The family moved to Ada a short time later, and this city had been her hom almost continuously since.
She attended the local schools and was employed in the city previous to her marriage.
On November 29, 1913 she was united in marriage here to DAvid J. Wilcox. Shortly after they left for the Baudette region, where Mr. Wilcox had taken a claims. Several years later they returned to Ada, where Mr. Wilcox passed away October 31, 1952. Mrs. Wilcox had maintained a rooming house here for some years.
Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Clen (Blanche) Palmer, Mrs. Cecil (Bernice) Lindsay, both of Renton, Wash., and Mrs. Howard (Murice) Rasmusson of Culbertson, Mont., three brothers, John and Ernest Rasmussen of Ada, and Emil of Renton, Wash., two sisters Mrs. Clyde (Cora) Lovelace of Lewiston, Idaho, and Mrs. leo (Myrtle) Bemis of Ada, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services, under the direction of the Frederickson Funeral Home, will be held Thursday afternoon of this week at the First Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. Rev. E.G. Larson will officiate and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nornes will sing.
Pallbearers will be Tenny Rasmusson, Maruice Evanstad, Earl McNamar, Emil Simonson, Clifford Busse and Ronald Rasmusson. Internment will be in teh Ada cemetery. witnesses: Berthe Ragnhilde Rasmussen, Hans Rasmussen, Armund Rasmussen, Emma Haugen

Services will be at 11AM Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, Rosholt. The Rev. Thomas McFarland will officiate. Burial will be in the Concordai Lutheran Cemetery in the Spring. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM thurs at the Voie Funderal Home, Iola. Mrs. Look was born Aug 25, 1891, in the town of New Hope, dau of the late Martin and Asper (Larson) Rasmussen. She was married to Edward Look in Rosholt in 1912. He has since died. She enjoyed reading and patchwork quilt making. Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Micheletti, Wittenberg; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren. "Edward Look, Rosholt, a Spanish -American war veteran, died Monday at the Toman Veterans hospital where he had been a apatient for many years. Serices were to be held at Wood, and Burial was to take place in the national cemetery at Wood. Evelyn B. Micheletti, 86, Wittenberg, a Rosholt native, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at St. Michael's Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Ill.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the services.
Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home in Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Micheletti was born May 27, 1914, in Rosholt, a daughter of the late Edward and Nora (Rasmussen) Look.
She was married to Frank Micheletti Jr. He died March 27, 1964.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt.
She was also a member of Maples Hills Golf Club in Wittenberg.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Burial: All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL
