EMBARRASS - Population, 300. An incorporated village on the C. & N. W. Ry.,
and on the Embarrass river, a water-power stream, in Mattison township, Waupaca
county, 36 miles northeast of Waupaca, the county seat, 4 from Clintonville, the
nearest banking point, and 160 from Milwaukee. First settled in 1860. Has
Congregational and Lutheran Churches and a graded public school. Telephone
