CLINTONVILLE - A town of 1,700 population, located on Pigeon River and on the Ashland div. C. & N. W. Ry. In Waupaca County, 38 miles northeast of Waupaca, the judicial seat, 15 southwest of Shawano, and 156 northwest of Milwaukee. It has Adventist, Baptist, Catholic, Congregational, 2 Lutheran and Methodist churches, high and graded schools, 2 flouring mills, a planing mill, 2 shingle mills, 2 saw mills, sash, door and blind factory, broom handle manufactory, a machine shop, brick and tile works, a bank and a weekly newspaper, the Tribune. The shipments, which are large, comprise lumber, wood, ties, hemlock, bark, posts and flour. Exp. Am. Tel., W. U. J. W. Meisner, postmaster.
