Waupaca County Asylum - Weyauwega, WI

 Physician’s Report

To the Honorable Board of Trustees of Waupaca County Insane Asylum:

I herewith present my annual report of the medical department for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1924.

We have no epidemics during the year covered by this report.  The sickness in part being such as will be found in every community according to seasonal changes, etc.  To these cases may be added such as led to mental trouble for which they were committed or, such as have caused their mental trouble and the accompanying depression and lowered resistance.

Surgery has been much lighter than usual.  Except for one Colles’ fracture by a fall, it has been confined to minor cuts and bruises.

The sanitary conditions have been the best, and the general morale of the institution all and more than might have been expected.  Through the most excellent management of Superintendent Hayward and Matron, Mrs. Hayward, conditions have been as near as ideal as it is possible to make them.
