Alexander Schmaltz

Alexander Schmaltz, a resident of Rhinelander for 34 years, died in his home, 87 Crescent Street, at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. He had been ill for approximately three months.

Mr. Schmaltz was born in [Nadrinbia] Poland on September 7, 1889 and came here from his birthplace. He was affiliated with the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was married to Pauline Herskorn in Rhinelander on August 10, 1918.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, Rudolph and Alfred, of Rhinelander; four daughters, Mrs. Marvin Huber, Miss Dorothy Schmaltz, Miss Elsie Schmaltz and Miss Natalie Schmaltz, all of Rhinelander; and two grandchildren.

The body is to be in the Carlson Funeral Home from 7 p.m. tonight until 1 p.m. tomorrow. Funeral services are to be conducted by the Rev. Ervin Scharf in Zion Ev. Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
