The Lakeland Area Genealogical Society serving Minocqua, Woodruff, Arbor Vitae, Hazelhurst and surrounding areas have just published Volume II of the: BIRTH, MARRIAGE, DEATH & MISCELLANEOUS INDEXES FOR THE LAKELAND TIMES for the years 1927-1949. The Lakeland Times newspaper is published in Minocqua, Wisconsin. The Marriage Index contains the following information: Name of the Groom, Name of the Bride, the Marriage Date, Newspaper Date and Page Number. The Marriage Index is sorted alphabetically by the groom's surname and a separate alphabetical index for the bride's surname. There are 496 marriages and 992 surnames. The Death Index has 1,580 entries, arranged alphabetically by surname. The index provides the name of the deceased, their age, their maiden name/birth name, their spouse's name or parents name for children, the death date, newspaper date and page number. The Miscellaneous Index is a new addition to the 1927-1949 index. This index is for those events that could provide additional resource information for family historians. Other events include silver and golden wedding anniversaries, wedding engagements, Biographies of residents of the Lakeland area, World War II information for men and women serving in the military and other similar events. There are 309 entries in this index. This new index is a valuable source for those doing genealogical or historical research, especially libraries, historical societies, genealogical societies and other interested people. This book can be purchased for $20.00 for non-members of the Lakeland Area Genealogical Society (LAGS) or $15.00 for members of LAGS, plus $4.95 for postage, shipping and handling.
