They had the following children: George N. b: abt 1842 married Nancy J. GARDNER (whose mother was Elizabeth A. POSEY); Betsey M. b: abt 1844; James J. b: abt 1848; Emily J. b: abt 1851 married Wm T. R. ADAMS; Sylvester B. b: 1857 married Seloma BARTHOLEMEW; Asa W. b: abt 1853 married Samantha HANKS; John A b: abt 1859; Mary E. b: abt. 1861; William T. b: abt 1865. If anyone has any information to share about any of these people I would greatly appreciate it.

BLAHNA - KLEMA - ATCHISON - CRAWFORD Jackie Blahna-Becker Tue May 6 00:45:39 2003 All homesteaded in Eastman (near Prairie du Chien) (Batavia) Crawford County, Wisconsin. BLAHNA - KLEMA came from Bohemia now Czech Republic. They were in Cleveland and Chicago, Illinois for a short time before they homesteaded in Wisc. ATCHISON - CRAWFORD came from Northern Ireland. They first settled in Canada before coming to US (Wisconsin). There are variations in spelling for BLAHNA - KLEMA and ATCHISON. Any connections out there?

CALLINAN - ELSWORTH Marilyn Ellsworth-Roman Mon May 26 13:47:40 2003 I found the marriage for Thomas CALLINAN on 28 Oct 1862 in Crawford Co. (his parents lived in Prairie du Chien) WI. He married Eliza ELSWORTH. The county court records is film # 1275994 & 1275887-1275889. If someone has access to these films and would do a lookup for me, I would be most greatful. RYAN - CHAMPION - O'NIELL - FORAN - KUSSMAUL - SMITH Bob Schmitz Mon Aug 18 20:51:46 2003 I have a picture of my mother, Marguerite RYAN, with five other women, whose names are inscribed on the back as Bessie CHAMPION, Kathryn O'NIELL, Laura FORAN, Jennie KUSSMAUL, and Addie SMITH. I estimate the picture was taken about 1915 and am guessing the occassion was completion of teacher's training. The other names are not familiar to me. Does anyone recognize them?

ZAVESKY - VEVERKA Scott Anderson Sun Sep 7 06:54:35 2003 I am researching the ZAVESKY family that left Drazic, Bohemia in about 1866 and went to Crawford County Wisconsin. I only know that because on Naturalization Paperwork filed in Cleveland Ohio Vaclav ZAVESKY said that he previously filed in Crawford County. I also cannot find any marriage information on Vaclav ZAVESKY and Anna VEVERKA in Cleveland Ohio. I am wondering if they married in Crawford County. The ZAVESKY family was large with many children. SCHWEIGER Sarah Dobson Thu Sep 11 19:50:00 2003 I am looking for information on Bessie SCHWEIGER who married Seymore WARD. Her grandparents were Joseph SCHWEIGER and Catherine WHITMAN, they came from Vurtenburg, Germany. They raised 7 children, at least 4 born in Germany. the other 3 around Eastman, WI. I think. John SCHWEIGER married Ellen 'Nellie' GLESON, don't know where or when. They had 7 children, I believe all born in and around Eastman, Wi. Joseph, Elizabeth 'Bessie Pearl b. 1889, m. Seymore WARD in 1914, Kathryn, , Anthony b. 1891, Mary b. 1884 and George b. 1894, Nellie died in childbirth with him. Most of them are buried in St. Gabrile's Cemetery (where is this) or Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien, WI. If you can help please get in contact with me.

POWELL Sarah Ann Dobson Sun Sep 14 20:18:33 2003 Looking for information on Lucille P. POWELL born in 1853 possily Crawford County. She married Joseph Silvinus WARD about 1875 or 1876 possibly in Crawford County. Joseph Silvinus was born in Rock County, maybe married there but we think in Crawford County. Lucille had two children Ernest Silvinus. She died in 1878 or 1879 in Crawford County. She is buried in Christ Cemetery with Joseph S. WARD. His second wife,Jane (Janey) COOLEY, is also buried in Christ Cemetery. Jane and Joseph had one boy Orla Robert and one daughter Leota who lived only about 3 months. Married my grandfather Carl Baxter CHILDS Aug. 1891. She died several days after the birth of my mother in April (Fern Cora CHILDS Smith) 1904. My grandfather remarried in Aug. 1904 to a Minta Neal CHILDS) They lived in Crawford county. Buried at Haney Ridge cemetery. Cora had three sibblings that I know of. Etta no birth date..believe could be related to a Toney...Edgar born 1873...Leroy born 1877.. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

SHAFER - MILLER Carl Bowman Tue Dec 9 19:59:05 2003 I am researching SHAFER family. Lemuel SHAFER born in 1822 in Ohio. Wife's name was Catherine MILLER born 1825. Lemuel patented land in Washington Co., Wisconsin in 1848. The next place I can find Lemuel is on the 1880 Census in Crawford Co. Catherine died 1874 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Utica Township, Crawford Co. Wi. Lemuel died 1887 and is buried there also. Children were Cyrus W. born 1844 Ohio, Phineus b. 1846 Ohio, Sarah b.1849 Wi., Homer James b. 1851 Wi., Minnie b. 1854 Wi., Etta b. 1855 Wi., Margaret Elizabeth b. 1857 Wi. Franklin b. 1860 Wi., Ora b. 1863 Wi. and Glen b. 1876 to Lemuel's second wife Rachel. Any information on Lemuel SHAFER, his ancestors or decendants would be greatly appreciated.

She had a brother Albert, even if I can find out something about Albert it would help. Lucy married Joseph Silvinus WARD between 1875 & 1876. They had 2 children Ernest Silvinus and Orla Robert. Albert and Mary VALENTA (changed to VALANT) had 3 children Theresa, Irene and George. Irene married Tony SCHWEIGER, Theresa married Bill SCHEIBEL and George married Myrtle LaPOINTE.

PHILAMALEE Maggie (Gill) Wachter Mon Feb 2 05:46:56 2004 Gr-grandmother, Mary Ann (PHILAMALEE) married John GILL Oct 1868 in Carroll Co Illinois and settled in Guilford Tsp and Galena IL. She died in Galena Feb 20,1920. Her obituary mentioned that she was born in Prairie du Chein, WI on Feb 22,1843. I have not had any luck trying to find any info on her.

FISHER Alvin Fisher Wed Feb 4 17:17:24 2004 I am looking for info on Henry Munroe FISHER, I believe he is buried in Frenchtown Cemetary. I think his daughter married H. DOUSMAN. I want to know if he had a son by the same name as his. Does anyone have a Biography on this FISHER line?

KROGMAN(N) - EASTMAN Karen Muchow Sat Mar 6 21:17:42 2004 I am looking for a obituaries of Carl Wilhelm Heinrich KROGMAN(N) born July 24,1879 and died July 1930 and his wife Violet Nellie EASTMAN born April 14, 1883 and died June 7, 1968, married June 16,1916. Lived on Fisher Street in Prairie du Chien in the 1930 Federal Census. Had one daughter Ethel born November 5, 1917. Also where they are buried and any other data on this family. Anne was born in Ireland and Catherine in Scotland. Their parents were James LENNON and Catherine CURRAN both of whom were born in Westport, County Mayo, Ireland in 1815.

McCANN - COOROUGH Patrick McCann, Sr. Thu Mar 25 21:32:11 2004 I am loking for information on Patrick Henry McCANN who married Rose COOROUGH. Rose was the daughter of William COOROUGH and Rose MURRAY. The COOROUGH's were long time residents of the 4th ward of Prairie du Cien. Other family members were Jim and Carol COOROUGH, Merilla COOROUGH, Ray and Mary COOROUGH. It is also possible that Patrick Henry McCANN's father Peter may have some roots in Prairie du Chien.
