This is a list of persons and businesses who put in a claim for money owed at the bankruptcy hearings for the Washburn Bayfield & Iron River Ry. The majority of the people listed are claiming money owed for labor. Any other claims are as listed after their name. Although the vast majority of the names are different persons, some undoubtedly are listed more than once, such as J. Jones and John Jones. However, they may be different persons, and in some cases I know they are different. The listings are for different months in the years 1897 and 1898 and I have listed them only once, therefore it is possible that some common names may represent more than one person. Also, it may be expected that some names are misspelled either by the original person listing them or by Tim Sasse being unable to interpret the writing correctly or by typos by me. Where it appeared an incorrect spelling may be possible, I put an 'and or' after the name. All credit for these names goes to Tim Sasse who through much effort was able to find these records and provide them to me. All I have done is to type the names off the bankruptcy records provided by Tim.
